Patient Information
General guidance for visiting Sherwood Park Family & Walk-In Clinic. Specific clinic policies (fees, forms, records requests, prescription renewals, after-hours arrangements) will be published here once formally approved by the clinic.
This website is not for emergencies.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.
1. Before your visit
- Bring a valid Alberta Health Care card if you have one.
- Bring an up-to-date list of your current medications, including doses.
- Bring any form or document the clinic has specifically asked you to bring — such as a referral, a form for completion, or previous test results.
2. Walk-in care
Our four family physicians — Dr. Saed, Dr. Elmedwi, Dr. Ben Hassan, and Dr. Abdulwanis — participate in walk-in care. The live online queue only opens when physician schedules and clinic capacity allow.
Usual walk-in hours: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM — availability may end earlier; check live status or call.
Availability may change and the queue may close earlier because of capacity or physician availability. Check the live status on this website or call the clinic before arriving.
Displayed wait times are estimates. Clinic capacity is limited, and patients may be seen based on physician availability and clinical priority rather than strict queue order.
Joining the queue is not an appointment and does not guarantee a same-day assessment.
3. What walk-in care means
Walk-in visits focus on the specific concern you present that day. Episodic walk-in care does not automatically establish an ongoing family-medicine relationship with the physician who sees you. If you have a regular family doctor, please let the treating physician know so appropriate information can be shared, and follow any follow-up instructions you are given.
4. Follow-up
Please follow the follow-up instructions given by the treating physician during your visit. If you need clarification about those instructions, call the clinic. We are not able to promise specific timelines for test results or form completion on this website.
5. After hours
For a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Health Link 811 is a provincial service that provides general non-emergency health advice from a registered nurse. It is not our clinic's formal after-hours coverage.
The clinic's formal after-hours arrangement will be published here once confirmed.
6. Electronic communication
The clinic's administrative email is for administrative use only. Please do not send symptoms, diagnoses, medication lists, health-card numbers, photos, attachments, or any other medical details by email or through public forms on this website. Email is not monitored for emergencies and is not a secure channel for clinical information.
7. Records and privacy
Patients may ask about access to, or correction of, their information held by the clinic. The detailed process, applicable timelines, and the designated privacy contact will be finalized before public launch. See the website privacy notice for details about the current preview.
8. Uninsured services
Some services may not be publicly funded by Alberta Health. Where a specific fee applies, it will be explained to you before that service is provided. Prices and accepted payment methods are not published on this website.
9. Languages
All six of our confirmed physicians speak Arabic and English. Arabic-speaking reception or interpretation availability has not been confirmed — please call ahead if you would like language support arranged for your visit.
10. Accessibility
If you have accessibility needs for your visit, please call or email the clinic ahead of time so staff can help. See the accessibility statement for how we approach digital accessibility and how to report a barrier.
11. Forms
Approved patient forms will be posted here after clinic review. There are no downloadable forms available on this website at this time. If you need help preparing for a visit, please call the clinic.
